Police seek public assistance to identify another 40 suspects

The police today released another photograph of 40 persons, seeking public assistance, to identify them for forcibly entering the President's Resident in Fort and causing damage to the property there on July 9.

Police said the Colombo Central Divisional Crime Detective Bureau (DCDB) is investigating to arrest the suspects over the incident.

They said the photographs of the suspects whose identities have not yet been revealed, were obtained through social media platforms and CCTV footage of the incident.

Police requested the public to come forward and inform if they have information on the suspects on those photographs via telephone numbers 071-8591559, 071-8085585, 011-2391358, or 1997 (Hotline).

Earlier the police also released several photographs of suspects seeking public assistance to arrest them over the incident.

These are our SRILANKAN HEROES. so much for freedoms while the old guard is still there. Libya and Iraq protestors didn't have any equivalent BASL or religious groups against them. BASL ask for peace. Ranil used the military to ensure peace forever, at the price for free expression and free protest. Maybe BASL shoud not have spoken against occupations, as they then encourage the viciousness against any and all the military have photos of.

I sincerely requst the police and government authorities to slowdown on hunting spree. Even Gatabaya Rajapaksha our former President did not stop or used force against the Aragalayas who entered the Presidents House. July 9th was one of the largest Public Uprising ever seen in Sri Lanka. Therefore for God's sake do not further agravate the situation as things are somewhat becoming better for public. You cannot ask the Public to identify the Aragalayas supported by the general public. I hope and wish common sense prevails and carry out your remaining good works for the benefit of general public. So that the future Aragalas will be discourage by the Public. Thanks

Why doesn’t Ranil Rajapaksa first arrest Mahinda, Basil, PB Jayasundera and Cabral for putting the country into this financial mess rather than trying to arrest those who suffered because of the actions of the guys mentioned earlier.
