The Police Sergeant who joined at the public protest at Galle Face Green, has been interdicted, Police said.
The Police sergeant attached to the Kuttigala Police Station had joined the public protest at Galle Face on April 14 while being assigned for special duties.
He was later arrested by the police and granted bail by the Fort Magistrate's Court.
Police said the cop was interdicted from the service with effect from April 14.
Earlier, Police said that disciplinary action would be taken against him following an inquiry. Darshana Sanjeewa Balasuriya)

Let the people see this! This Police Officer should NEVER have been punished in this manner. It reeks of corrupt, self serving, greedy, power hungry, simplistic administration, which needs to be sacked totally and completely. When will Sri Lanka have this Golden opportunity?? MM
