Nathasha Edirisooriya, who made certain disrespectful remarks on Buddhism, has been arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) a short while ago while attempting to leave the country, Police said.
On Saturday, the CID launched an inquiry following a complaint that the suspect had allegedly made disrespectful remarks on Buddhist philosophy and culture as well as Christianity during a stand-up comedy show in Colombo recently.
Later the suspect in a video online publicly apologized for the controversial statement she had made.

The MP should be arrested and given the due punishment. No doubt about that. That said, the comedians are not special too. The way the this comedian insult Buddhism should not be ignored. Let the law be implemented, for both of them.
