Minor earth tremor felt at Lunugamwehera: SDTAC

A minor earth tremor was reported this morning in the Lunugamwehera area in the Southern Province, a senior official of the Seismic Data and Tsunami Alert Centre (SDTAC) said.

He said the tremor was recorded in the three seismic centres at 10.38 am to a magnitude of 2.4 in the richter scale.

No damage nevertheless was reported and it lasted for a few seconds," the SDTAC official said. 

The investigations into the current tremor and the series of minor tremors felt recently are still underway. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
