An Attorney-at-Law has been arrested by the CID for having sold a 20-perch land worth Rs. 500 million that belonged to the Thailand embassy in Colombo 7 by stealthily using forged documents, Police said.
The CID had earlier arrested the two men who had forged deeds and sold the land to another and bought the land, Police Spokesman SDIG Ajith Rohana said.
The CID began investigation after it had been revealed that the transaction was made through forged deed.
The arrested lawyer would be produced before the Colombo Magistrate.(DSB)

This nothing new. This is the trend today. What more can we expect when value and historical land in and around Colombo are been readied for say under the pretext of investment. We will finally end up in an "Unbalama".

Once Rajapakshas' pardoned a former military officer (interdicted) of a such a fraud over the Rajagirya Walauwa that owned by Honourable Anagarika Dharmapala. That is their culture and nature what 6.9 M people liked. It is what democracy is, in Sri Lanka.
