Depending on “tourism and tea” will never make Sri Lanka a prosperous country even in thousand years . It only makes hoteliers and tea estate owners very rich. If “ tourism and tea” were the answers then we should have been a prosperous country long time ago.

No country can be managed and shaped successfully without realistic political concepts and social visions of the future! But a political goal that promises people a prosperous nation by 2048 documents the helplessness of the president in the face of the current problems in the country and a kind of escape behavior to utopia! Sri Lanka must now, within a reasonable time frame, carry out a radical cure in all political fields in order to create a stable foundation for the future in every respect! This must be done on the basis of a fair policy that, above all, balances out social differences! Then, after five to ten years, the results must be evaluated and further realistic goals must be formulated!

I am not a supporter of any parry, but so far Ranil has performed well in augmenting dollar crisis, had Gotabya been in power, we would have become the most poverty striken country in the world.; people have a bias mind, Rajapaksas foolish decisions brought us to bankruptcy, now let's support Ranil to revive the country. Critising is easy, performing is difficult. Who is the party leader than Ranil to negotiate with IMF, you must have acumen to deal with international leaders.

The best case scenario would be Sri Lanka to emerge as a developing country by 2048 as there should be a limit to fooling the unsuspected majority of people without playing in the bushes for mere political advantage to exonerate the former ruler.

Why wait for 25 years till 1948? According to reports, till 2017, over USD 36 Billions of export proceeds have been stashed away in foreign countries by major exporters in Sri Lanka. Five years on, and counting, the amount is sure to be well in excess of USD 50 Billions and possibly more than our TOTAL Foreign Debt. If the Powers that be, take action to bring back the Hidden Export Earnings, within the next few years, we will NOT have any Foreign Debt to pay and Mother Lanka will be among the wealthier countries in the world. How about it our Rulers and those in the Opposition?

What country on earth with 23 million begs for Tourists like Srilanka? No job creation at all. 1.3 million Tamils have left due to racial issues. Couple of millions are in Middle East. What have you done?Spew racism, all of the time. Very superstitious people, even National anthem was altered for that. Even 1000 IMF package can't and won't lift us. Pathetic
