Jayantha Ketagoda to be sworn in today

Jayantha Ketagoda who is expected to fill the National List MP slot created after the resignation of former State Minister Ajith Nivard Cabraal is to be sworn in today, Serjeant-at-arms Narendra Fernando said yesterday.

Meanwhile it was reported that MP Mahinda Samarasinghe who is to take over the post of Sri Lankan Ambassador to the USA will remain as an MP till the budget is passed. He will take over duties of the new post in January 2022.

Parliament is also expected to take up 15 regulations and other regulations pertaining to export and imports this week. (YOHAN PERERA)
