(The Business Standard) - The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) today (25 July) withdrew its protest against exam paper leaks after the Indian government accepted all its demands, following 36 days of demonstrations.
CJP spokesperson Saurav Das announced the decision at a joint press conference in New Delhi after the third round of talks between the party delegation and the government.
"The CJP declares that we withdraw the agitation in good faith and understanding that the agreed upon terms will be executed within the agreed upon timeline," Das said.
He made the announcement alongside federal ministers Jitendra Singh and JP Nadda.
Another CJP spokesperson, Ashutosh Ranka, said the government had accepted all their demands after the prolonged protest.
"We urge everyone to peacefully withdraw from the protest sites," he added.
