The investigations into the controversial illegally imported Hummer vehicle has been handed over to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) by the State Finance Ministry.

Secretary of the State Ministry Mahinda Siriwardena has forwarded a written request to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) informing the CID to investigate into the incident, on the advice of State Minister Ranjith Siambalapitiya.

The Hummer was illegally imported into Sri Lanka on February 22 last year and later it was impounded.

However, the high luxury vehicle was later auctioned at a public auction in which the concerned SUV was bought by the importer himself.

Earlier, the State Minister had requested the Director General of Customs to submit a report regarding the malpractice.(Darshana Sanjeewa Balasuriya)

Aiyo nothing will happen. We are an island of low caste crooks. Somehow, by a strange case of luck we were converted to Buddhism. Otherwise we will be praying to ultra crooks like Mahinda and his forty thieves.

CID conduct these days a little questionable when we look at the recent happenings.

Minister Siyambalapitiya! You are acting like a typical BULL in the CUSTOMS china shop. Please keep yourself fully covered. We the watchers really appreciate what you are trying to do, but we are not selfish to sacrifice any MP who try to help the nation to get up on its knees.

What a waste of time for a minor matter. Sri Lanka will never develop as long as these types of jokes exists. Government should use existing government officers to important matters as we are in a bankrupt state.
