Video footage showing that a heated argument ensured between Sri Lanka’s fast bowler Suranga Lakmal and another individual upon the national team’s arrival at the Bandaranaike International Airport from India earlier yesterday, over the national team setback during the Indian tour.

Speaking to the media after the incident, Lakmal said that the particular individual criticised the national team for their poor performance in India.

“When this particular person made a statement criticising the team for losing the matches in India, I explained to him on the spot, it was just another incident,” he said adding that “such incidents are unavoidable.”

He also said that everyone expects the national team to win, but every time you can’t “but for cricketers, they should be able to accept both victory as well the defeat.”

“Hereafter I won’t be playing for the country, but I expected cricket lovers will treat our team members properly,” he added.

That is normal. It is not easy to play with the formidable Indians, in India when Chameera was rested for T20 world cup. Ridiculous. He should have undertaken that surgery soon to prolong his career. For the New Zealand tets let's hope that Lakmal will come as it is during the off season of county championship.

Atleast if the cricketer acknowledged that we played bad but we collectively will try harder , I think the man would have been happy , and so would the fans have some belief in the team ! Not an argument saying it is just a match !
