The Afghanistan cricket team that visited the island for a one-day cricket tournament in Sri Lanka took steps to prepare a special meal at the hotel where they were staying.

Afghan superstars Rashid Khan and Yamin Ahmadzai had prepared this dish.

A video recorded by the Afghanistan cricket team was published on the Afghanistan Cricket Board's official Youtube channel as well.

The meal was called "Shinwari Rosh or Mutton Rosh," which is a famous dish in Pakistan.

After preparing the meal the Afghanistan team offered prayers before sharing it with the Sri Lankan players.

While enjoying the meal, Sri Lankan cricketer Chamika Karunarathna said while he has had mutton before, this was a special dish.

"I do not know who prepared this mutton meal, but I will ask them the recipe," he said, clearly enjoying the meal prepared by the Afghan cricketers and said that he would make the dish for the entire team at the Asia Cup tournament.

Meanwhile, Sri Lankan Captain Dasun Shanaka also said he was having this meal for the first time and said he enjoyed it and also sharing a moment of camaraderie with the Afghan team. (Chaturanga Pradeep Samarawickrama)

Understanding cultures and appreciation is the fist step for a better human being ... guess both the SL players did that well. In this country we lack these interaction... and the selfish politicians use that to always divide and rule.... it was humble effort by the afghan team but it goes a long way... thanks guys. U didn't win the series but you won many hearts

These Afghanistan cricketers even though most of them can’t speak English but still they are clearly enjoying their stay in our beautiful Sri Lanka. Sri Lankan landscape must be a big contrast to them as most parts of Afghanistan just like the Arab countries are deserts and rocky hills where even the grass don’t grow.

ASHRAFF ALI JAWFER Thursday, 08 June 2023 06:19 AM

Yeah we have everything but the Arabs have best leaders who turned deserts to great landscapes. Look at us. People like you with a narrow mindset ruled us and screwed us over.

Rashid Khan could open a restaurant in Colombo. It will be a big hit.
