WPC polls: Hirunika yet to decide

Discussions are underway between several political parties regarding the candidature for the Western Provincial Council elections of Hirunika Premachandra, the daughter of slain Presidential Advisor Baratha Lakshman Premachandra, sources said.

The Daily Mirror learns that several rounds of discussions had been held between government MPs and Ms. Premachandra where she has been urged to contest on the UPFA ticket.

Sources close to Ms. Premachandra however said that no decision had been made yet regarding the candidacy and that she had received invitations from several political parties to contest the elections.
