WPC abducts her lover; attacks his wife and child
Police have started investigations into an incident in which a woman police constable (WPC) broke into a house in Kadawatha and forcibly took out her lover who was living there, having first assaulted his wife and four year old child.
The woman who had been assaulted had lodged a complaint with the Peliyagoda Police Headquarters.
The WPC had been carrying on with this man for some time.
Police later found the man whom the WPC had abducted and recorded his statement. He had confessed to having had an affair with this WPC. He said that the WPC threatened to shoot him and his wife and child if he went back to them. The WPC had been married and divorced.
Police said there would be a thorough investigation into this case after their superior officers were briefed. (Srinath Prasanna Jayasuriya)
