Britain on Monday said that if the Sri Lankan government has begun a genuine and credible domestic process in to the alleged war crimes claims, properly by March 2014, it would give it its full support to the Sri Lankan government.Cheran Thursday, 30 January 2014 02:10 AM

USA and UK are not mighty nations by origin. UK became a mighty nation by invading other countries, murdering citizens of those nations and robbing their wealth. USA belong to "Aboriginal People" not white people who invaded and killed them. White people are living on stolen land.

UK need not bother given their track record of instigating and causing mayhem amongst communities in their former colonies. Sure they can send in their experts to create new problems and make the current situation worse as in the Middle East, Nigeria, Kashmir, Sudan. If they must have a role, give them a broom and a bucket and direct them to the nearest toilet block.

Mind you own business mate where was your support when the tamil tigers were killing and bombing innocent sri lankans were for decades. Please explain why now UK needs to get involved is it because of the tamil tiger diaspora pressure so you can get their votes. We are more eduacted than UK and have a good upbringing with values and culture and what do you have in UK.

UK was one of the first countries (even b4 GOSL) that banned the LTTE. The LTTE is a terrorist group, thus the whole world (India, USA, UK) helped GOSL to eliminate the LTTE. The tamil diaspora is a result of sinhalese acts of violence and harrassment to innocent tamil civilians, who had no other option than to leave to safer havens. Education does not bring civilised behaviour, otherwise why is the world calling for a war crimes investigation and why is the GOSL refusing to have the same?

May I proposed to UK to complete their Home Work before you interfere to others countries. If you have any troubles to win Tamil Diaspora's votes ask them to go back to their mother countries. We Sri Lankans are welcome them if they are our citizens..Then your internal problem will solve. They will serve to mother country to develop including their community.

What "credible" steps have you taken to tackle the crimes committed by British soldiers abroad? Please show us what you have done and then talk to us regarding what we have to do....also note that SL is not the playground of the Diaspora anymore....It ended with the death of the maniac prabhakaran.

USA and UK is desperately doing their utmost to hid the heinous war crimes, HR violations and crimes against humanity by trying to nail other smaller nations on falls accusations who won against terrorism. These mighty nations are unable to stand in front of their people and cover up their blunders and failures in effectively combating against Terrorism where as a smaller nation like Sri Lanka alone did it. This is pure jealousy and high ego thus USA and UK wanted to destabilize India by using Sri Lankan Tamil cause! .

Talking about credibility and the Hague, the queue AHEAD of Sri Lanka is quite long that includes first world western nations , as well.. The end result will zero - and the fat cat UN types will continue flying at the pointy end of planes, enjoying 5 star accommodation and fat pay checks (supposedly) endeavouring to rid the world of Human rights abuses.

George C, your belief that Sri Lanka is a rogue banana republic, explains your lopsided views. For your information, Sri Lanka is a cultured nation with a continuous written history of over 2500 years, unlike any other nation in the world.
Sri Lanka also being a Buddhist majority state, unlike all other ex-colonies of Britain, Sri Lanka extended compassion and granted citizenship to the millions of Indian Tamil plantation workers, imported from India to Sri Lanka and left behind by the British.
George you should visit Sri Lanka and meet its people, rather than get deceived by LTTE terrorists now living overseas.

Nothing is credible in SL. It is a rogue banana republic like Iran, Cuba and Zimbabwe. Take them to the Hague please.

Hey George Looney,
Go to Hell brother. SL will always be SL. Taking SL to hague will not change anything. If SL is forced to divide. We will put the country on war footing, backed by thousands of troops. All hell break loose after. We will turn it into a vietnam. There will be thousands of our citizens willing to fight any foreign nation or terrorist set foot on nation.
But for now we will use all diplomacy, even begging. Diplomacy first, action second.

How many times it has to be mentioned that the rest of the world don't condemn the country Sri Lanka. It is the government which committed crimes and this has to be investigated.
Sri Lanka is a beautiful and good country with a good portion of good hearted, brave people. No one dispute that. If certain people abusing their powers, killing civilians or order it, some kind of mechanism in the own country should stop them. If this mechanism is not functioning as the same people suppress it, we have to be grateful if a international mechanism gets into action. Don't twist the facts. Our country's jurisdiction, as well as the police never will be free to take action against the culprits.
