UNP nomination board: Sajith busy campaigning

United National Party (UNP) Hambantota District MP Sajith Premadasa said today he had informed the party of his inability to be a member of the nomination board, which was appointed to select suitable candidates for the elections to the provincial councils.

He said he was too busy with election campaigning in the Hambantota District.

Mr. Premadasa told Daily Mirror he had made his excuses to UNP National Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe and he had acknowledged my position.
He said he also informed the General Secretary Tissa Attanayake about this matter.

“I made this decision based purely on my busy campaign schedule and the party had accepted my position,” he said and added that he had already begun campaigning for the elections to the Southern Provincial Council. (Yohan Perera)
