Thirty more Indian fishermen arrested

Thirty more Indian fishermen were arrested by the Sri Lankan Navy on Monday night on charges of fishing in Sri Lankan waters violating the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL), Sri Lankan Navy said.

“Thirty Indian fishermen were arrested on Monday night along with eight trawlers near the sea off Delft Island for allegedly fishing in the Sri Lankan waters,” Navy Spokesperson Commander Kosala Warnakulasuriya said.

He said the arrested fishermen were handed over to the Fisheries Inspector at Kankesanturai Fisheries Port this morning to carry out further investigations. (LSP)
