Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa adjourned Parliament for fifteen minutes following a tense situation with opposition MPs walking down to the Well of the house.

The tense situation prevailed after Minister Ravi Karunanayake refused to withdraw his claim that MPs had consumed liquor last night while staying in Parliament.

The Speaker called a party leaders meeting as well.
