Sanath, you are a good choice. But leave politics aside and select the best players on form and ability to play good cricket. Don't select greedy players who go after 20/20 format sacrificing srilanka's chances to have well planned cricket fixtures. Give young players a chance and remove the old ones even they happened to have played with you in the team earlier.

Sir,
Reading all the 54 comments prior to me reflects one thought. He is a good cricketer no doubt but he is simply not suited for this role.
He may bury our SL Cricket under "PUSSESS" - quote from his only day as a commentator !

This is not surprising? We need a greedy politician to be on the panel. How else could we get our kith and kin selected to the team....

Sanath, you have lost the faith and respect of your fans, once whom were cheering for you. That is because of your own actions and for becoming a boot licker of the government. NOW, AT LEAST USE THIS CHANCE AND DO A GOOD JOB WITHOUT BEING BIAS AND PRODUCE A WELL BALANCED TEAM. It might help to bring back the lost popularity...

Cricket in Sri Lanka has gone down very badly. With this decission it will further go down as Sanath is a politician. Politicians should not involve for administration. Result will be that administration will be politicalized.

Good decision by the minister. Sanath has got a wealth of Cricket knowledge , I am sure he will do a good job within this year for Cricket in SL. He is matured and learnt things in so many ways and surely he will be a champion.

A "Pus Vedilla". On the positive side, with his personal experience in wives, he will avoid repeating the same particular players for a number of matches and keep on changing players until he finds a perfect one - which will be Never!

Seems like Sports Minister have already decided to nail the coffin, the so called change.. we really thought some good change was coming, I used to not miss a single game Sanath played before we won the World Cup, then we saw how this once feared and admired great player became zero from hero, if he had retired after that recalled England tour and had not joined politics he may still have remained a hero. I am sorry to tell you Sanath you really don't deserve to be in this panel.. the Public has witnessed your antics enough, you'll never see how low you have become till you leave politics.. at least now please give up.. if you still do not wish to leave, avoid taking revenge.. all in all God' Bless Lankan cricket team..

Sri Lanka you were a disgrace in Australia. I dont see you coming out of this rut ever if politics is the main ingredient of selection
