Prisoners under treatment escape
A group of prisoners who had been referred to the Prisoner’s School at Wataraka has escaped custody. The Commissioner General of Prisons, Chandraratne Pallegama said the prisoners concerned were under treatment at the prison hospital when they fled from custody in the early hours of today.
He said they had cut open the security fence of the prison hospital and fled. They had been referred to the prisoner’s School by the Ambepussa prisons.
