Possibility of heavy rainfall in several provinces
The Department of Meteorology said showers or thundershowers would occur in the Northern, North-Central, Eastern, Southern and Uva Provinces during this afternoon and night.
It said there might also be temporary localized strong winds accompanied by thundershowers particularly in sea areas.
The Met Department said towards afternoon tomorrow the intensity of the thundershowers would lessen.
“But the rainy weather will continue over eastern parts of the country” it said.
The Department requested the people to refrain from any activities that might cause any damage from lightning. “It is better to take adequate precautions in advance” it added.
