Police looking for shooter in Kilinochchi

Police search operations are being carried out with the assistance of the Army in the Kilinochchci area to arrest a suspect who has escaped after shooting one of the police officers today, police said.

The suspect, who is believed to be an ex-LTTEr, had aimed gunfire at the police officer when a police team from Colombo attempted to arrest the suspect over a case.

Sources said some weapons were recovered from the location where the suspect had stayed in Dharmapuram, Kilinochchi.

Anybody who tries to take law according to his whims and fancies must be dealt with the severely. 12,000 LTTErs were rehabilitated but due to current scenario of Pillai and TNA despite rehabilitation those hardcore elements would try to regain their former positions!
