Youth killed in Jaffna big match clash

An old boy of St. Patrick’s College, Jaffna was killed in a clash between old boys of his school and Jaffna College today, during the annual one day Cricket encounter of the two schools, police said.

The-23 year old victim had been allegedly assaulted brutally during the clash at the Jaffna College’s ground in Vaddukoddai where the match was being held.

He died on admission to the Jaffna Hospital. Police said no arrests have been made so far. (LSP)

From school level they need to start understanding competition, rivalry and aggression is good only among players of the game but when it comes to students from either school they are just students like in every other school who should enjoy the game..
