Navy step up heat on poaching fishermen
The Navy said today that 15 Indian fishing vessels along with fishermen have been taken into custody for poaching in Sri Lankan waters.
The fishermen were arrested during search operations carried out late last night and this morning
“The fishermen will be taken to the Trincomalee harbor this evening,” Sri Lankan Navy Spokesman Commander Kosala Warnakulasuriya said.
Earlier Indian Media reported that over 200 Indian fishermen were detained by the Lankan Navy.
