Manilal claims Rs. 2bn as damages from Rodrigo

Manilal Fernando, the former chairman of the Football Federation has filed a law suit before Colombo District Court against the incumbent Federation Chairman Ranjith Rodrigo claiming two billion rupees as damages regarding an alleged defamatory statement.
Mr. Fernando has charged Rodrigo had said in December 2014 that he had defrauded tsunami assistance funds received from foreign donors.
The complainant said “his image and the name had been damaged in the statement.” (Lakmal Sooriyagoda)
