Man dies after falling off luxury apartment

One person was killed and another injured when they fell off the 11th floor of a luxury apartment in Rajagiriya today, police said.

They said the two had been painting the building using scaffolding equipment that had collapsed. The injured was admitted to the National Hospital in Colombo. (LSP)

Awareness and training on safety at work needs major focus by the employers and the employees in SL to prevent such tragic incidents. Conducting a proper risk analysis and taking required precautionary measures prior to starting a job should be a must. Employers should be held responsible for violating safety regulations
