FCID must be independent, but at the same time SLFP members should not disrupt law and order. Criminals and rogues should be questioned for their crimes. Protecting the criminals and making protests is going against the law. Those going against law should be punished.

Political interference is different from political direction.The cabinet, minsters or other political officials should have the right to lodge a complaint.This is political direction simply because the complainant happens to be a politician or a political body. sort of like a private company lodging a complaint. this is a basic right in pursuit of justice.Interference is when they (anyone) try to influence the FCID to make a judgment call (either guilty of not guilty) on any individual. FCID should be allowed to conduct investigations, gather evidence etc without anyone hindering. In many developed countries Hindering an investigation (even by not providing evidence) is a punishable crime. many politicians made claims to have evidence. I think they should be charged for NOT producing this evidence.Hope Mr. President made the correct distinction regarding interference. The people did give him a mandate to curb corruption. this by mandate become politically initiated.
