The Principal of Sir John Kotalawala College in Kurunegala who was arrested yesterday was released on a Rs.25,000 cash bail and a Rs.500,000 surety by the Kurunegala Magistrate today, NCPA OIC said.

The case will be taken up on March 14.

He was arrested by the National Child Protection Authority (NCPA) on charges of having upbraided a school girl over her photograph posted on Facebook, which led to her committing suicide.
