JVP candidate killed in accident

Western Provincial Council JVP candidate and trade unionist Sumathipala Manawadu was killed this evening when the motorbike he was riding collided head on with a lorry in Ganemulla.

He was heading to address a political rally in Kadawatha at the time he met with the accident in where the lorry had gone without stopping.

The incident took place in the 25th mile post area near the Kotalawala junction in Ganemulla. (Supun Dias)
