Jellyfish ‘invade’ Polhena beach

Matara Police Lifeguard Unit has advised people planning to visit Polhena Beach to refrain from visiting the area until further notice due toan increase in jellyfish sightings.

Four people have already come into contact with a poisonous variety of jelly fish floating in the water and have been hospitalized. It has also been reported that the number of people visiting the beach had decreased today. (Krishan Jeewaka Jayaruk)
