Dodging questions posed by the media on the post of SLFP Kelaniya organizer, Minister Mervyn Silva today insisted that was the SLFP organiser for the Kelaniya electorate.“I’m the SLFP organiser of Kelaniya now. That’s all I have to say,” he replied when a journalist asked whether the Minister was re-appointed to the post or was continuing to work in the previous appointment.
Asked about the basis on which former Western Province Chief Minister Prasanna Ranatunga was appointed as the Kelaniya organizer, he directed media to ask that question from Mr. Ranatunga.
In response to a question whether the decision was taken by the party to appoint him as the Kelaniya organizer, Minister Silva asked the media to clarify it from the party.
“I invite everyone to join a ceremony scheduled to be held at the Kelaniya Vishnu Devalaya on January 23 as we are going to start our work with religious activities, “he said. (Lahiru Pothmulla)
