Former United National Party (UNP) Chairman Gamini Jayawickrema Perera said that he could mediate if UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe and Parliamentarians Karu Jayasuriya and Sajith Premadasa hesitated to participate in proposed discussions on Party reforms.

“Mr. Wickremesinghe, Jayasuriya and Premadasa should get together on future party discussions and reforms. I will come forward and decide what to do if anyone of them tried to get away from these discussions,” he told a news conference.

He said that he could now make such impact on others as he was the only senior party member after stepping down from the chairmanship of the UNP. (Lahiru Pothmulla)

Sir ,we respect you. You are a true UNPer. Do something to rectify the parties problems.. my personal opinion is Ranil should go out of this council and allow Sajith and karu handle the party matters independently but Ranil can advice the new executive committee on certain matters. he can participate in propaganda as Ex UNP leader and as a party senior as you .At last i must thank for your bold and wise decision to resign from your post as chairman. it proved you are not power hungry or a puppet of anybody.

Yes Sir,
We never forget the way you made the NW Provincial Council a very effective machine.All these people just say foolish things about PCs and never seriously try to make PCs what those were meant to be. And try to earn as much as possible.

As UNPers we admire your courage and wish you all the best.

But even I think Our great and honest leader should now step down.
