Customs officials today detained a package containing 132g of heroin valued at Rs.700, 000. It was found at the Air Cargo Centre in Katunayake, Customs Spokesman Leslie Gamini said

He said the package had been sent via a courier company in Colombo on March 24 from Karachi, Pakistan by declaring it as surgical apparatus.

Two Sri Lankan women were arrested and investigations are being carried out by the Customs Narcotic Bureau. (Chaturanga Pradeep)
