German drowns in Hikkaduwa sea
A 74-year-old German is reported to have drowned in the sea off Hikkaduwa last evening.
Police said the victim identified as Berns Karldietr Friedrich Matias was married to a Sri Lankan woman and lived in Hikkaduwa.
The body was sent to the Karapitiya Hospital for the postmortem examination to be held today. (CP)
