Galle-Matara stretch of southern expressway opened

The Pinnaduwa (Galle) to Godagama (Matara) stretch of the Southern expressway was declared open by President Mahinda Rajapaksa a short while ago.

The stretch of highway consists of four lanes and was constructed at a cost of Rs.18.7 billion. With the opening, it will take just one hour and 20 minutes to travel from Kottawa to Matara.

When compare with Gall Rd, Kottawa is parallel to Moratuwa. it take at least 4 Hrs from Moratuwa to Matara on Gall Rd. I So, the Highway save 2.5hrs on one way. Awesome.

The govt. should spend more on the agricultural sector, it is the most primary industry compared to all. Efficient transport system is essential, but now is not the right time to spend millions. Rather the govt. should start providing subsidies to farmers. Srilanka's efficient soil quality could produce more than the required and exports will become attractive.
