Five SL fishermen arrested by India
A Sri Lankan fishing boat along with five fishermen onboard was apprehended by the Indian Coast Guard Ship Rajveer off Vakalapudi coast in Andhra Pradesh with 700 kg of fish on Tuesday.
According to a statement issued by the Indian Coast Guard Commander, the boat and the fishermen were apprehended for fishing without license and entering Indian Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) without stowing fishing gear in the prescribed manner.
The Hindu newspaper reported that the apprehended boat would be handed over to the local police authority at Kakinada.
