Colombo High Court Judge Kumudinie Wickramasinghe ordered the Director General of Customs and the Registrar of Pesticides to appear personally before court on March 2, 2012 to show cause as to why fertiliser containing arsenic were released for import. The court had previously issued an order against releasing the fertiliser which contained arsenic. (T. Farook Thajudeen)

Customs officers are the scum of the earth with absolutely no morals, scruples or pride . Hope the Courts will expose and punish them.

At a time when we hear about lot of people having cancer I think the courts should divulge the name of the company which imported this consignment of fertilizer.
