Derailment causes obstruction to train service on northern line

The Matara-bound express train from Vavuniya derailed at Poonewa between Vavuniya and Medawachchiya railway stations this morning.

The Railway Control Room said, all trains on the northern line will terminate at Medawachchiya railway station until the obstruction is cleared.

The area is not done by indian govermnet, indian works to mannar and vavuniya to Jaffna.
