Chinese drowns in sea

A Chinese tourist downed in the seas off Dikwella while another Chinese woman who had got into difficulty was saved and admitted to Matara Hospital in a critical condition, the Dikwella Police said.
The victim was identified as Cho –Chung (54).
The deceased and the woman were part of a group of 16 Chinese tourists who were enjoying a sea bath when the two got into difficulty, sources said.
They had visited Kandy, Nuwara Eliya and come down to Dikwella where they stayed at a tourist hotel.
Preliminary magisterial inquiry was held this afternoon at the Bathigama Hospital.
Dickwella Police are conducting further investigations. (S. Galapatthi)
