Zoho expresses readiness to support SL’s digital transformation strategy for 2030



Zoho Corporations, a global company specialising in business technology solutions, recently expressed its readiness to support Sri Lanka’s ambitious ‘Digital Sri Lanka’ transformation strategy for 2030.

The initiative, spearheaded by the Technology Ministry, aims to increase the digital economy’s contribution to US $ 15 billion in the next five years, up from the approximately US $ 4 billion generated in 2022.

The primary goal of the strategy, according to the Technology Ministry, is to facilitate sustainable economic growth while delivering safe, inclusive and trusted services to the citizens across the nation.

Built on six principles, including inclusivity, innovation, sustainability, global relevance, human-centric approaches and rights-based governance, the strategy identifies several key areas for focus. 

These include infrastructure, connectivity, improved access, digital literacy, cybersecurity, digital financial services and digitalisation across sectors and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

“The MSME digitisation is where Zoho can come into play. We are well-positioned to contribute to this transformation by providing innovative solutions designed to the needs of both businesses and government entities,” Zoho Asia Pacific Vice President and General Manager Gibu Mathew said.


Speaking at a special briefing for the media, Mathew commented that the government’s “cloud-first” approach under the strategy would improve the productivity of businesses along with digital adoption across citizens.

“The digital ID is a good start. It as an important concept of the digital economy because it represents a solid area where the tech world is evolving into,” Mathew said.

Although Zoho Corporation is yet to set up a local office, he identified Sri Lanka as one of its fastest-growing markets in the APEC region.

A few of the company’s most favoured products in Sri Lanka include its customer relationship management platform Zoho CRM, operational streamlining solution Zoho One and artificial intelligence-embedded communication tool Zoho Workplace.
