Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa's son Yoshitha Rajapaksa was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
Police spokesman SSP Buddhika Manathunga said Yoshitha was arrested in the Beliatta area this morning (25),
He said that Rajapaksa was arrested under the Money Laundering Act.
The Attorney General instructed the CID that there is sufficient evidence proving Yoshitha Rajapaksa has committed an offense under the Money Laundering Act.

He did this with hench-aiya DIG Anura Senanayake who was the state power used to coordinate the laundering deals. Money was transferred in millions to innocent Tamil boys accounts and swiftly processed using Anura Senanayake who collected them by intimidating. It was a mafia process where top guys were properly isolated by the lower ranking hench-aiyas.

CID has sufficient evidence to prove Yoshitha was on money laundering, then nothing to worry, he should be punished severely for this criminal act.

The public has had enough of the 'arrest and bailed' charade. What they want to see are convictions followed by appropriate prison terms.

They will. Prosecution is a process. Wait and see, don't let your imagination run wild.

NO CHARADES WITH THIS GOVT, BUT AS USUAL A PROCESS HAS TO BE FOLLOWED. SOME BAIL APPLICATIONS ARE REJECTED WHILE SOME ARE GRANTED ON TERMS BY THE COURT. Saturday, 25 January 2025 03:52 PM
RIP WINKLE, PEOPLE CAN BE ARRESTED AND BAILED PENDING IT IS NOT A CHARADE!!. COURT CASES GO INTO PLAY AND ONCE FOUND GUILTY THAT THEY ARE PUT BEHIND BARS. PEOPLE HAVE TO BE PROVEN GUILTY IN A COURT OF LAW TO GET CONVICTED!!. A PROCESS HAS TO BE FOLLOWED AND IN SOME CASES BAIL IS EITHER GRANTED AND OR REFUSED.

The country went bankrupt because of such activities in stealing public money. If there are enough evidence then he deserves to go behind bars, not for short term but for long term and this will be a good lesson for others. I believe there is more to come from this so called royal families

Please get in to the bottom of this and take to the court following proper procedures. It is common knowledge that Rajapakse family was involved in money laundering and many corrupt practices. The issue has been how to prove and the political influence under the previous Governments. We want to see the maximum punishment if proved please.

If this is the same justice system that previous governments have been practicing for the past 76 years, then we can only say that the current government has also totally failed. We expect the same justice for all criminals regardless of their social and political status.

May be arrested for small crime. Where us they need evidence and facts to the courts. All the commissiion invoiced issued legally from tax free heavens and reivestetd in real easte and stock market all over world via his nominees. Please check last 15 years cenetal bank transfer of foregin currency approvals as well. Not sure CID has the expertism to handle the big crimes. Uganda story is not correct. Please be aware of the criminals, dont think like petty thefts.
