Yaldevi derailed near Kelaniya

How long does it take between one derailment and the next? Just a few days. The same train derailed at Maho a few days ago and was divided to two pieces, just the way this rotten government of thieves and scoundrels will be derailed sooner than later. Incidentally, I was travelling to Colombo by the intercity train that left Anuradhapura station at 1630 hrs. Although there were no interruptions to the journey, the trip took half an hour more than scheduled. Possibly because it was travelling slowly to avoid such derailments.

Tracks are not maintained well. Full of grass and mud, it will corrode the rail system.

The derailment cost me money and time I normally travel to Gampaha in this train very often from Dehiwela/Fort as it gets me there faster. Today's derailment upset all my plans. I had to trudge it to the main road take a three wheeler to the bus stand near Sugathadada Stadium and took a Gampaha bus which took quite a long time to reach the destination. I wanted to come back by train to Ragama and when I got to the station I was informed that there would be deklays due to the derailment. Since I had some stuff to carry I took atuk tuk where the distance wax less than km fir which he demanded 150/-. The train fare to Ragama is 40/-. But I am sure it will cost me four times that. What a day and what an experience!

These derailments appear to take place on bysy tracks thereby inconveniencing rail travel. Moreover, on days there are General Strikes as well. how can we run a profitable rail sercice?
