Why should President cancel France tour just because a delegation member is denied visa?: Opposition

Colombo, July 14 (Daily Mirror) - Referring to reports that President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has cancelled his tour to France as a member of the delegation has been denied a visa, Opposition MP Mujibur Rahman today questioned whether this is necessary for a cancellation of an important official tour. 

"We also heard that the President's tour to France had been cancelled. Is the denial of the visa for one member of the delegation a reason to cancel it," the MP questioned.

"We have been told that the President was to hold talks on the GSP Plus concessions with some European leaders during his tour to France while signing of bilateral trade agreements were also on the cards.The cancellation of the tour becomes questionable in that context " the MP added.
