Water supply suspended due to Ambathale–Dehiwala pipeline rupture



Colombo, January. 3 (Daily Mirror) - A sudden rupture in the main water supply line from Ambathale to Dehiwala has led to the suspension of water supply in several areas, according to the National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB).

The affected areas include Moratuwa, Rawathawatta, Zoysa Pura, Ratmalana, Mount Lavinia, Dehiwala, Wellawatte, Pamankada, Mulleriyawa, and Kolonnawa. Meanwhile, residents in the Battaramulla area are experiencing water supply under low-pressure conditions.

The NWSDB said that repair work is currently in progress and that water supply is expected to be restored before midnight today.

The Board has expressed regret over the inconvenience caused to the public.
