Former Sri Lanka ambassador to Russia Udayanga Weeratunga, granted bail by Colombo Fort Magistrate's Court today.

He was released on a cash bail of Rs. 2.5 million and two sureties of Rs. 50 million each. (Nimanthi Ranasinghe)

All those who were arrested since 2015 January, all are out on bail. Only one matter proceeded to a hearing and that is where two top Government officials were involved. All the politicos are free. Weerawansa case was an open and shut case but it is still going on. This is Sri Lanka

Nice move, the Democracy of brotherhood. He was brought down, kept in prison for few days, then sent to General Hospital and gate was opened to go home as a free bird. Nice plan, many more culprits to come out soon. Citizens are not idiots, keep that in mind.

Always, everything is a temporary cover up to win elections and the masses always are taken on a ride. Shame... It proves that greater the crime by powerful and influential people, you are either pardoned or granted bail. These encourages people to commit big crimes. What a state of affairs.
