This is garbage. Srilanka is much more safer than several countries including america. I recently spent one week in Phoenix america. You can't walk in the streets without being bothered by drug addicts beggars and homeless people.

From Google. Appears hardly any difference from the last.
Quote
The recent update to the U.S. travel advisory for Sri Lanka (October 14, 2025) has not changed the overall Level 2 "Exercise Increased Caution" rating. The main difference is the addition of a new risk indicator for landmines in certain uncleared areas of the Northern Province. This is a minor update reflecting a new landmine warning policy for U.S. travel advisories worldwide, not an indication of new or increased risk in Sri Lanka. The advisory still warns about civil unrest and terrorism.

There should be a travel advisory and a living advisory for the United States. " indefinite Government shutdown amidst a bankrupt economy, lack of Govt services, no public health care, mugging, rapes mass shootings and killings widespread that can occur at any time, unjustified, ICE raids and detentions by hoodlums in government uniforms, a racist President who will instigate violence against individuals for personal revenge.

What nonsense is this. This was only in the past and not now. We do not have murders like taking place in the US where every week we hear people are been killed. There is some miscommunication led by some one.

Fantastic advisory - this shows the faith that the US government has on their local counterparts. So much so for Sri Lanka standing shoulder to shoulder with US at the recently concluded UN meeting.

SL should not take this lightly and this affects tourism and investments heavily. Specially European and middle east tourists too will avoid SL with this statement.
One more similar case like easter sunday means our economy will collpase again.
SL government should strengthen the intelligence units rather than playing political games at this moment. Also use necessary safety messures at major places where people gather.

This is highly politically motivated with no verified basis unless an attack which is being orchestrated western state actors with the approval of the US. I am extremely concerned for our country which is stable and progressing well under this government.

Calm down people. Check for yourself by visiting travel.state.gov Sri Lanka. There were no changes to the advisory level. The Other risk indicator was added. Advisory summary was updated to reflect risk factors in "Other public areas". The only reason the US issues travel advisories to all countries is because the US is limited in their ability to help its citizens if they take risks. This is the ultimate goal of a travel advisory. As you can see America takes care of its citizens.

Travel advisory should say. If you go to Sri Lanka the biggest risk to your life is the crazy MoFo bus drivers. Otherwise everything is cool.

Sri Lanka foreign ministry should issue a travel advisory to Sri Lankans listing all the drug, criminal gang areas and plundering areas in USA. There are too many in each and every city which is a no go area unless one is familiar with that area.

Apparently they have issued similar warning about the Maldives Madagascar, Eulquatorial Guinea, And Ecuador most likely due to the situation in Madagascar.
Usual geographical incompetence of the current regime or is it will full incompetence?
These poor countries that rely heavily on tourism for their economies what exactly does the US hope to achieve with their threat of terror to create instability…….

To put the record straight this could be in relation to the BBC documentary on channel 4 called the killing fields of Sri Lanka where more than 40000 Tamil civilians are alleged to have been killed by the Sri Lankan armed forces during the final days of the war and the Easter Sunday massacre in the recent past where no action had been taken by the authorities concerned to take the culprits into custody where many foreign tourists also were killed.

Yes; taking care of its citizens, ICE-style!
Seen them being picked up everywhere, dragged along the streets and bundled into vehicles!
Even native Americans have been picked up by ICE ( to be deported where exactly?)
Then they have to produce a certificate to give proof of their blood line!
How backward is that from the most powerful country in the world!
