Colombo, Feb. 16 (Daily Mirror) - The United National Party (UNP), which held Minister of Public Security Ananda Wijepala responsible for the deterioration of law and order, called for his resignation today.

The party in special statement questioned the ability or the willingness to carry out investigations by the police that were heavily politicised during the last year.
