Colombo , Feb 19 (Daily Mirror) -Two shop spaces of the Dambulla economic centre have been sold by the traders who have rented them, Minister of Trade and Food Security Wasantha Samarasinghe told Parliament today.

Responding to a question raised by MP Chamara Sampath Dassanayake in the House today, he said it is illegal to sell shop space as the economic centre is owned by the government.

Also, he said the National Agribusiness Services Ltd has been set up to run the economic centres effectively.

MP Dassanayake said the government will have to face negative consequences of setting up the National Agribusiness Services Ltd as some traders from the Minister's own home town have gone against the move.
