Colombo, February 22 (Daily Mirror) - Two persons were injured when a lorry travelling along the Hatton–Colombo road veered off the roadway and overturned in the Watawala area during the early hours yesterday (21).
A Watawala Police officer said preliminary investigations indicate that the accident occurred due to the vehicle being driven at high speed. The lorry had lost control before overturning by the roadside, he added.
The injured were admitted to the Watawala Regional Hospital for treatment.
An official from the hospital said that the condition of the two injured persons is not serious. They are currently receiving treatment as inpatients and are reported to be out of danger.
Watawala Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
