Colombo, July 02 (Daily Mirror) - Wadduwa Police have arrested two suspects in connection with the assault on a Sri Lanka Air Force officer near an automated teller machine (ATM) outside a bank branch in Wadduwa, an incident that drew widespread attention on social media.
The assault reportedly took place on June 22, following which the victim lodged a formal complaint with the police. An extensive investigation was launched, leading to the arrest of two suspects on July 1.
Police identified the suspects as residents of Kadigamuwa, Pitugaldeniya, and Atala. They were taken into custody by a team of investigators attached to the Wadduwa Police Station.
The suspects are scheduled to be produced before the Panadura Magistrate's Court today (July 2).
