Two arrested for killing deer in Nanu Oya
Colombo, August 28 (Daily Mirror) - Two individuals were arrested yesterday in connection with the killing of a deer in the Nanu Oya area of Nuwara Eliya, the Wildlife Department said.
The arrests were carried out by officers of the Hakgala Wildlife Sanctuary Protection Office.
The suspects were produced before the Nuwara Eliya Court today, where they were found guilty of possessing deer body parts. One suspect was fined Rs. 40,000, while the other was fined Rs. 80,000.
